Les Terrasses

Les Terrasses is a residential development of six villas in Nusa Ceningan, Bali, overlooking the lagoon between Ceningan and Lembongan. Set on a terraced hillside, the project follows the slope, arranging homes across different levels and opening them towards the water.

The design centres on the relationship between interior and exterior. Living and dining areas extend onto terraces, gardens and private pools. These outdoor spaces become part of the home, offering room for shared meals, an afternoon in the shade or a quiet moment overlooking the lagoon.

Pale plaster, textured stone and timber define the material palette. Simple geometric forms frame the views, while changes in texture give the architecture warmth and depth. Sunlight draws out the grain of timber and the surface of stone; shaded areas provide a quieter backdrop to the bright landscape beyond.

Outdoor showers, pool decks and sunken lounges bring the routines of tropical living into the plan. Each villa balances private rooms with open spaces for gathering, allowing daily life to move easily between shelter and open air.

The project brings architecture, interiors and landscape together around the island setting. The lagoon remains a constant presence, seen from the living spaces and terraces as its colour and light change throughout the day.
